- DENSE POPULATION: The City of Fremont is characterized as being one of the Bay Area's
largest and most densely populated suburban communities. Fremont is the fourth largest
city in the San Francisco Bay Area and the 14th largest in the State of California. The
City boasts a vibrant and well-diversified economy with over 1,200 high-tech firms located
within its eight business districts.
- VIBRANT TRADE AREA: Crossroads' primary trade area (within a 5-mile radius of the Center)
features a dense population of approximately 280,000 residents with an average annual household
income of $105,000. The latest statistics suggest that more than 44% of the city's
population earns above $100,000 in annual income and 61% of the population earns
more than $75,000 in annual income. In addition, the trade area offers a daytime employment
base of more than 118,000 workers.
In contrast to most East Bay markets, which are linear in nature due to geographical constraints
imposed by the San Francisco Bay and surrounding foothills, the Fremont market is generally flat
and characterized by dense, established development, much like a major metropolitan area. While
most regional destinations in the East Bay need to draw customers from distances greater than 10
miles due to their unique geographical constraints, Fremont draws from a very close, 360 degree
population base within a few mile radius. Fremont’s central location in the Bay Area, specifically
its proximity to the financial and technological centers of San Francisco and the Silicon Valley, attracts
a diverse, well educated and upwardly mobile resident population.
